Needs Analysis
Define user needs, system specifications, constraints, and success metrics.

QUICK PORTALS // ACADEMIC
STUDIO // CAPSTONE DESIGN
A capstone interdisciplinary project where students design, build, and test real electronic systems that solve industrial, energy, and community problems.
OVERVIEW // DESIGN BRIEF
Capstone Design connects needs analysis, hardware-software design, prototype validation, performance testing, and go-to-market thinking in one guided project cycle.
OUTPUT // OUTCOMES
Validated electronic system prototype with technical documentation (schematic, firmware, and test report).
Quality, safety, and standards compliance (SNI/IEC) plan for the designed product or system.
Business feasibility analysis, implementation strategy, and presentation-ready portfolio.
CURRICULUM // INTEGRATED COURSES
The Capstone Design process is carried out across two integrated semesters, guiding students from technical product innovation to market-ready validation.
This course serves as the Initial Phase (Design Phase) of the Capstone Design series in the study program. The main focus is to equip students with comprehensive abilities to design and build electronic system prototypes that are safe, high-quality, and innovative.
In the Capstone Design context, students are challenged to think critically to solve real problems in industry and society through research and development (R&D) approaches. The system design process starts with: - Needs identification and technical specification analysis (power, sensor, actuator, connectivity requirements). - Schematic design, component selection, and firmware (embedded system) development. - Comprehensive performance evaluation (functional, electrical safety, EMC) and strict assurance of safety aspects.
Capstone Final Output (Design Phase): Students produce an operational electronic system prototype (Minimum Viable Product / MVP) that has been tested for performance and safety characteristics, ready to be transitioned to the business downstreaming phase.
This course represents the Advanced Phase (Scale-Up & Commercialization Phase) of the Capstone Design series, integrated sequentially after students successfully design a system in the previous phase. The primary focus is to transform the prototype into a viable industrial scale and business model.
By adopting the Islamic Technopreneurship approach, students learn to utilize local resources and appropriate technology sustainably. The integration of Capstone Design in this course is emphasized through: - In-depth application of Design Thinking methodology (from Empathize to final Prototype) to mature the system concept from the user perspective. - Analysis of production scale-up strategies and comprehensive business modeling using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). - Formulation of digital marketing strategies, measurable financial feasibility analysis, and application of sustainability principles.
Capstone Final Output (Scale-Up Phase): Students generate a comprehensive Business Plan and scale-up plan (business MVP) that is mature, legal, and ready for professional pitching to potential investors or industry stakeholders.
